    Hi all,
I’m new to splice machine and I’m testing it both on a Cloudera and a Hortonworks cluster. I have read that Splice can be configured to use Kerberos authentication if you enable the enterprise license. But what about installing Splice in a kerberized cluster? Can I use the community version to install it on an already kerberized Hbase and then use the local authentication to authenticate myself to splice? Does it work?

    Thank you very much

    Hi Davide,

No, that will not work. If you install Splice Machine Community Edition on a kerberized cluster it will fail to boot.

If you want to test the security capabilities of Splice Machine, we’ll be happy to make an evaluation version of the enterprise edition available to you. Let us know.
